• Purchased for 30€ including shipping, as an affordable multi-purpose tool that offers many functions at this price without compromising on quality. It comes with a fabric case in a well-presented cardboard box.
Tac Maven is a brand of the famous Greek company Pentagon, known for its security equipment, which is making a strong entry into the multi-tools market, in addition to its clothing and military bags. Tac Maven products are of high quality.
Anyone who holds it in their hands will think it costs over 80€, it is truly a good purchase, better than a Leatherman since Leatherman tools, although they offer slightly better quality and durability, cost 5 to 6 times more than this one, and there is also the risk of losing or having them stolen. They are essentially very expensive for the functions they provide. Victorinox, of course, is in a league of its own in terms of quality and has a disappointingly high cost, as everything they produce is truly timeless.
Let's talk about the Tac Maven Gunnar (a new brand in multi-tools) which, for me, is a must-have value-for-money multitool (perfect for technicians, camping, military use, outdoor adventures, amateurs, and professionals), made with quality metals 440 and 420.
    - The knife comes satisfactorily sharp (passes the A4 paper test) and from what I can see, it will be easy to sharpen in the future, just like the very good scissors, which can cut several sheets at once.
    - The pliers are very good, strong enough from the first use (I would like the tips to be a bit thicker, but even as they are, I have no issues). A big positive is the replaceable wire cutters, which can easily cut cables and wires, etc. (Note: if they are steel wires or nails, they may wear out prematurely and lose their cutting edge).
    - The file has a numbered spike at the back and a satisfactory awl with a hole on top for makeshift sewing.
    - The screwdrivers at this price are satisfactory, I don't know if they will withstand heavy use.
    - The saw cuts wood of similar size.
A big positive is that all the tools lock, making it more user-friendly and safer.
As for durability, time will tell how it holds up.

  • In a 10-year-old Morris washing machine (WBW-81265/2) where the drum wasn't spinning, I immediately thought that the carbon brushes (in the motor) were to blame. I unplugged it, closed the water supply, and removed the inlet and outlet hoses. I turned it upside down and thought about fixing it myself.

I removed the old carbon brushes, which were quite worn down (less than 1 cm). The Morris carbon brushes were 13.5mm wide, 5mm thick, and the length of the spring with the wire was about 4cm, which I measured with a ruler I found in front of me (normally a brand new carbon brush would be over 3cm long).

Since I couldn't find readily available brushes for this specific model, I searched for ones with similar dimensions in length and width. I found some that are normally intended for BOSCH washing machines, priced at just 5E, with a thickness of 5mm but slightly shorter at 12mm. However, the important thing is that they make good contact with the rotor's surface because their height is approximately 35mm.

Now let's move on to the installation. The metal terminal that connects to the motor's cables was considerably smaller, so the electrical connection didn't fit properly, even though the carbon brush fit into the slot. So, what did I do? I cut off the wire from the old brushes along with their terminal and cut off the wire from the new brushes on the terminal side, then I removed the springs to make the connections without the wire pushing back. I twisted the wires tightly and added a bit of solder for better bonding. Finally, I reattached the springs by wrapping them from the edges upwards, and it was ready.

With the perfect fit of the small terminal that fits perfectly onto the cable and the cap that holds the carbon brush, they immediately fit and aligned. After I leveled the washing machine and plugged it back in, it finally worked, and the drum started spinning. So far, it has completed 3 wash cycles without any issues.

In conclusion, with a cost of less than 10E, if you take the time and effort and get your hands dirty, you can even fix your washing machine with carbon brushes meant for a different brand and model, without having to search for an available technician who might charge you around 40E and make you wait for their arrival and installation, not to mention the potential future damages that could increase the cost.

Of course, this applies only to electrical work. We unplug the plug from the socket and before plugging it back in, we check if it's dry, and of course, the anti-electrocution relay in our electrical panel should be functioning, as devices with a metal frame can be dangerous if there is a current leakage

  • Incredible, practical, functional, and economical adapter does what it promises (supports USB 3.0). I used it with a charger from Type C to a simple USB A cable and it fast charged normally and as a bridge connection of an external hard drive that I have on my phone from the USB A cable of the hard drive to Type C via the adapter.

  • They fit most multimeters, now in terms of quality they are not as good as most budget multimeters, I stuck with insulating tape and tie wrap the cable at the end that ends in the probes so it doesn't come off like the factory ones.

  • 23 gauge wire thickness with a length of 13mm.
It penetrates and staples from 60 to 100 sheets of A4 80gr paper, of course with a heavy-duty stapler.

  • Initially, it appears durable as the size and entirely metallic construction definitely suggest professional use, while its cost is quite low, around 6€.

It accepts 26/6 wires, which are thin and not very resistant (for me, suitable for a few sheets and casual use), but it also accepts the common 24/6 slightly thicker wires to easily staple 24 to 26 sheets of 80gsm in practice. Be careful, it does not accept 24/8 wires as the guide can only accommodate 6mm.

The iron frame that turns the wires inward can be adjusted with a screw if it moves, for example, so that it can be positioned exactly below the wire that will penetrate the paper.

So far, it seems good, I don't have an opinion yet on durability, time will tell...

Simply excellent A4 paper (80g) has not caused me any problems so far (in black and white laser and a few color prints on an inkjet printer), suitable for quick notes in folders with both pen and pencil.
If you want better quality color printing (designs, images) on both sides and on an inkjet printer, it is better to go for thicker paper, meaning 100g and above.

  • Compatible economical toner with about 6€ if it produces at least 800 pages compared to the genuine Brother TN-1090 (1500 pages but 5% full) which costs 20 to 25€ and still very cost-effective I have not yet used it (the genuine one I have produced so far about 230 pages well filled not the 5% they have as a standard for toners).
--> It arrived promptly and beautifully packaged.
Because I have not yet used it, I cannot have a review regarding its functionality and compatibility, maybe the printer needs a reset, I will reevaluate it when the existing toner runs out, but because in the printer (HL-1223WE) the genuine toner does not have a chip (a big advantage for this) the compatible one will work immediately like the genuine one.
