The newest game in the Paper Mario series. Join Mario and his friends once again in a brand new adventure to restore color to the world!

On a dark stormy night, Mario finds Princess Peach and Toad at his door. Surprised, he lets them in and receives a mysterious letter. The letter contains a drained Paint Can. The stamp on the letter shows Prism Island and Mario and co. quickly head there on a boat, even while traveling through a storm. Upon arrival, the town square is deserted and much of the color has been drained. Then, Toad leaves, while Mario and Peach soon meet Huey, a mysterious three-dimensional paint bucket. They hear a scream and Mario, Huey, and Princess Peach quickly head towards the sound only to find a Slurp Guy draining color from Toad. After the Paint Can is restored and Huey is pressed by Mario into a two-dimensional object, they set out to find the culprit.
