50 mm prime lenses with a large aperture are an essential accessory for full-frame camera users, and this particular one is a top-tier and affordable choice. The optical design is state-of-the-art for high image quality, and the large maximum aperture of F1.8 can create impressive background defocus (bokeh). On APS-C format E-mount bodies, it provides equally high quality with an equivalent focal length of approximately 75 mm.
The upgraded dual gauss optical configuration with an aspherical element minimizes spherical aberration and coma, for sharp, high-quality performance across the entire frame. The dual gauss design also reduces distortion and field curvature.
The large maximum aperture of F1.8 and the 7-blade circular aperture work together to create beautiful background defocus (bokeh) that makes subjects stand out. Placing a sharply focused subject in front of a smoothly defocused background is an essential technique for creating images with great depth.
The new DC motor drive system has been carefully designed and implemented for optimal focusing accuracy and speed, as well as silent operation. This system offers the same smooth control of automatic and manual focusing. Note: The sound of the focusing motor may be recorded when shooting movies.

For 150€, it is the most value-for-money lens I have seen. It has good sharpness, although not the best, but for its price, it is the best I could have. Its Bokeh is amazing and it is logical due to its 1.8f. In focus, it is a bit noisy but for me, it doesn't matter at all. The autofocus struggles to find its point sometimes, especially when your object is close, but you find it quickly. It performs very well in low-light conditions and produces very nice colors.
I bought it on Black Friday for 159 Euros. It is worth every penny and more. It makes a little noise during the focusing process, which is not the fastest, especially in low light conditions.
We have and we say:
1) The autofocus is slow.
2) The color reproduction is quite good. Here I must say that compared to the Sigma 30mm, it had better reproduction. However, the Sigma is much superior in sharpness and autofocus.
3) Nice bokeh, even at f 1.8, depending on the situation, it performs quite well.
4) Very good price compared to performance. There are certainly much better options, but not at this price.
The evaluation is based on use with the Sony a6300.
Good lens with proper depth in several areas, beautiful bokeh and color with some deviations. That's where the difficulties begin, it's a good lens to start with, with a reasonable cost for what it offers. It doesn't have stabilization and the autofocus is relatively slow and noisy due to the protruding focusing barrel. I recommend using a hood permanently on it and a good recording system in a quiet environment.
It has been tested on a7iii, a6300, and the legendary crop nex vg 30 with different focus speed settings. No golden ratio was found except in touch focus and face follow with good results.
Value for money, yes, with a cost of a relatively good user experience, it's worth having in your bag.
However, I hope I helped, but the actual use may vary from user to user.
With such a good price, you overlook the mediocre performance and the quite intense sound of the AF. It is worth it for everyday use and low budget.
Amazing as a value for money for anyone who finds 50mm fruitful. Nowhere is it perfect but it is always above average. Look for it in the V.3 version though...
It is what we call "honest". If it was more expensive, I would say it's a waste of money, but for amateur use, it is excellent. The AF is indeed very slow and sometimes struggles to focus. However, the quality of the photos it produces is very good. Considering its good price, it is a lens that can be easily purchased and used in cases where fast AF is not required.
I have done all the updates to it very sharp, almost no distortion or vignetting and minimal chromatic aberration, but its autofocus is bad, sometimes it does full hunting and never focuses especially in low light conditions. In the video with the Sony A7II, it simply never focuses, here even with the A6300, A6500 it is slow, in photos sometimes it performs well with continuous focus and good lighting.
For the money, the lens is satisfactory
