Let me start with the positives: nice thick pads with good sensitivity and LED that you can edit either from the MPD or from the editor that you can download from the Akai website. You can also adjust the notes that each pad will play using the editor, but you can also adjust the buttons to send MIDI information and note repeat (with many subdivisions of the quarter note), and also send button combinations from your keyboard, which helps a lot in being more flexible in your DAW as you don't need to search for various shortcuts every time. This is one of the reasons why I chose this instead of the MPD 226. You can also assign each pad to a different MIDI channel, so you have the ability to use multiple synth or drum channels simultaneously (very useful for FL Studio users). It is compatible with Windows and Mac. It is powered by the USB port. It has an input for a power supply, but I don't know why it is not included in the package and you have to buy it separately.

The negatives: it is entirely made of plastic, it is black which makes even the slightest dust very annoying, and you need to use it for a while to stop the double trigger that all drum pads have in this price range. To avoid double triggering, you need to spend at least 400 to 500 euros.

Nevertheless, it is still a very powerful and user-friendly machine for making your music and beats, giving a more human and less robotic feel with the use of the pads. I highly recommend it, it is worth the money.

P.S. I have had the MPD 232 for about 2 months. So at some point in the future, I will come back to edit the evaluation to provide information for the review.
