In this book - the result of academic lectures and the study of stories of Italian literature, critical essays, literary works by Italian authors and scholars - the history of Italian literature is presented from its beginnings until the end of the 20th century. The idea and implementation of the work constitute a new proposal, which is addressed to researchers as well as the general public, with the aim of complementing the existing bibliography in this scientific field.
The criteria on which this particular writing is based are the comprehensive presentation of the historical framework, critical recording, the rough delineation of the creators (including both the "major" and the "minor" ones), the description and development of literary genres, the multidimensional perspective as well as the personal analysis and study of the texts.
The originality of the book lies in the fact that it also presents the historical and socio-political conditions within which literary movements and authors emerged, thus helping the reader to understand in depth and gain a broader picture of the culture of the neighboring country.
