On 16/5/2015, I bought this product to replace a white plastic one that lasted for 15 years and "raised" 2 children. It is quite slow in boiling time, noisy, and after a few initial uses, the stainless steel bottom acquired a permanent eggplant color on most of its surface, which never cleaned despite always boiling filtered (dechlorinated) water and using vinegar. 7 months later, under normal operating conditions, it short-circuited, causing the electrical network safety to trip, and it never worked again. The official service took 15 days to determine that a) it was burned for no reason, b) it was within warranty, and c) they needed to send me a new one. Expressing my reservations about the product as a whole, the German retail chain, where I had returned the damaged one, issued me a credit (very easily) and I rushed to buy another (glass) trouble-free Pyrex SB-450, which I have been using for 6 months now.
