Very good, easy to use, plug & play. Especially for new laptops that often do not have an optical drive, this comes in handy to solve the problem. We use it at home on 2 different computers that do not have an optical disc, so we saved expenses.
Well ... nice design and that's about it.
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong since I don't have previous experience with external CD-DVD drives, but it's not rocket science either, as I have plenty of experience with computers.
It doesn't read my CDs, and if it does, it does so with a significant delay.
It makes noise, you know, that repetitive sound at regular intervals.
An attempt to create an image file for a new CD failed miserably.
Let's take into consideration that this specific one I got may be problematic, but I can't go through the process of repair, replacement, etc. to know exactly what's wrong!
It was immediately recognized in a Windows 10 environment.
It has a more immediate response and speed than internal DVD writers I had in the past.
For those who are wondering, "Hitachi-LG" is written on the back, along with the serial number.
I had some old CDs with photos and when it read them, it made a very loud noise... nevertheless, it did its job, it is definitely durable (you will understand once you hold it) and it is affordable
The USB port broke very easily. And when I say very easily, I mean when I stored it without removing the cable from the port. When I tried to write a CD again, I realized that the internal part had broken!
I have a MacBook and it works without any problems and without needing to install the driver. It also matches aesthetically with the computer. Obviously, the material seems to not be durable, but for the money I paid, it is just right and I have no complaints. The cable is good in length, neither too long nor too short. The packaging doesn't say LG, but Hitachi-LG. For someone who doesn't want to spend a lot of money, it's great
It does its job as expected. However, it gives the impression that it is fragile, so it requires careful use. Otherwise, it is great in terms of speed and noise during operation.
For the money, it is just what I needed. It could have had a slightly longer cable, then it would be perfect. It is around 30-40 inches in length. One of those purchases you make without any stress.
I have connected it to Windows 10 (plug & play), to a USB 2.0 port. The CD software is useless to me. I want to inform you that the photo shown on various sites is misleading because it says "super multi" on it and not LG, and the box says Hitachi-LG Data Storage, Inc. As for the noise, it is 56db at 30 cm. It writes a CD Audio with 13 tracks in 3 minutes. I will let you know about its reliability in due time, as it is still new. Also, if someone has tried it on a TV or somewhere else, please share your impressions. It is sleek and very lightweight!
Good and affordable solution for an external media player and disc burner. Easy connection with USB to the PC, with its own software included on a CD. Very good speed in Read/Write for CDs and DVDs. The build quality is average, definitely not a good idea to travel unprotected, better to use it simply on a safe desktop. It is worth it for this use.
It is honest.
Cheap, windows 10 plug & play, does its job perfectly and makes a little noise if it is aligned with the table.
For light use, it is superb.
Obviously, if someone wants it for heavy use, they might have to look into something internal inside the PC case rather than external like this.
It looks like a good machine. It is very lightweight, which may indicate a slightly lower build quality. It has a nice design and is plug & play on Mac. I bought it for 25€ and I believe it is worth it up to that point.
Very fast, works perfectly with the mac without having to install drivers, connects directly and works perfectly. Immediate response, no errors in recording, very slim, transfers easily, very lightweight and makes minimal noise. All of this at 1/5 of the price of the SuperDrive while perfectly matching the metallic MacBook Pro.
