Description
The myth was the first form of "cosmology". In the animistic universe of primitive peoples, anthropomorphic beings determined natural phenomena and the fate of humans. Going beyond animistic cosmogonies, the pre-Socratics attempted to interpret natural phenomena with natural causes. Their physiocratic cosmologies constituted the historical-dialectical negation of primitive cosmogonies.
After approximately two thousand years, the time of science had come, which in turn constituted the dialectical negation and transcendence of rational cosmologies and philosophy in general.
Based on macroscopic observation and practice, science established a body of knowledge with specific content, qualitative characteristics, and quantitative relationships. Science, as a form of social practice, an endless process, is primarily a historical science: from the macrocosm to the atom and molecule, to microorganisms, to the atomic nucleus, and today, to the subatomic level. On the other hand: the cosmos, stars, planetary systems, galaxies, galaxy clusters, vast accumulations of matter, formations of billions of light-years in length. Matter: inexhaustible in extent and depth. Without beginning and without end.
Infinity of matter in space and time. A position that cannot be proven. But why matter and not nothingness? The objectivity and self-existence of matter are principles. As principles, they are posited. They are not proven. But: 1) They are inferred as the generalization and theoretical transcendence of experience, and 2) they are the only ones that do not lead to contradictions. Has the Aristotelian "wonder" been satisfied? If so, then humans have conceived the infinite. Which is absurd!
