It would be good to test the lamp when there is absolute silence, for example, late at night. If you hear this sound or whistling, then the lamp is defective and you may need to replace it - there are relevant reports on the Internet. Personally, I bought 4 lamps and only one presented this issue - I made sure to replace it immediately.

It is cute for its price. I have never tried a smart or RGB bulb before, so I don't know what the competition is like.

On the positive side, it has very easy connectivity - it worked with the app very easily and has nice settings such as a timer or trying to mimic the color temperature of the sun at a specific time of day in a specific geographical area.

On the negative side, its warm colors like yellow (orange/red) are not good (it has a tendency towards green in general). Even in "white" mode, it is not comfortable to use for reading/viewing and the printed colors do not appear correctly - they look dull. It definitely does not convince me that it has CRI80 - it is much worse than the already bad commercial bulbs.

I don't believe that I will use it to replace any functional/lighting purposes, but I think it will work for decorative lighting!

12-24 months later: the above still holds true, meaning it is only suitable for decorative lighting, and even then, you might stumble upon it. Don't even think about using it for reading or work. During this time, I really enjoy how it aesthetically enhances my space, and since there aren't many at its price, I just bought a second one. I should note that 2-3 times it lost its settings and I had to pair it again. I also had problems when trying to control it simultaneously from my phone and tablet. I solved it by uninstalling the app from the tablet.

The biggest issue with the bulb is that after power outages (which happen frequently here), the bulbs turn on, causing you to wake up in the middle of the night because of the light (and of course, if you're not home, they will remain on until you return to turn them off). Unfortunately, there is no option to change this behavior.

  The packaging says 800Lm, but the light intensity is lower compared to traditional commercial bulbs with the same Lumens. No connectivity issues through the TP-Link Tapo app on mobile. Adjust the settings once and then you don't have to worry about it again. However, for a large space (30 sqm living room), the 3 bulbs I bought are not enough for sufficient lighting.   There are 2 versions of the lamp, with hardware version 1 and 2. I have purchased both versions.

  Overall, it is 800 lumens as advertised. The colors are fine and you can adjust the temperature of the white light (from 2500K to 6000K) and the intensity.

  The difference is that V1 supports "Themes," which are color variations that you can create. There are 2 pre-set themes, "Party" and "Relax." Nothing special, it seems like an unfinished feature that they abandoned (it does not support grouping).

  At least V1 has a limit on the passphrase for the Wi-Fi network, 15 characters. If you have a longer password, it simply won't connect without an error message that helps solve the problem.

  The app is okay. Pairing the lamp and the account is simple, even in case of an error, it can be easily corrected. It requires an internet connection. The app generates a "key" (token) through the cloud and then communicates directly with the lamp for commands. Theoretically, it could work in case of an internet outage, but the app must be running and the key must not have expired.

  You can put multiple lamps in a group and flash them simultaneously. You cannot change colors, only turn the group on or off.

  Firmware upgrade is very fast, 20 seconds.

  The price could be better, at least for the 2-pack, but sometimes it is even more expensive than buying individual lamps.
