"The great man knows when and where he is small. The Little Man does not know that he is small and is afraid to find out."
The psychoanalyst Wilhelm Reich saw in the everyday person - the one we refer to as the average, public opinion - the seeds of fascist ideology and totalitarianism. The person who is oppressed, who does not take responsibility, who does not criticize the wrongdoings, who does not participate in collectives, can behave even more harshly and abuse power when they gain strength. The author, who was persecuted and imprisoned for his ideas, in this book criticizes the average neurotic person for the pettiness and passivity with which they handle all critical human issues.

A very good self-criticism manual... I was greatly impressed by the way it is written... It grabs you from the first pages and essentially presents how wrong we behave and think in our everyday lives... I consider it highly valuable and worth a read because I believe it can only change us for the better as human beings...
A relatively small but very powerful book. It speaks to you (or rather, shouts) in your face. It addresses all the things we do wrong and refuse to accept and correct. From fascism to our everyday interactions with other people.
The edition is hardcover with high-quality paper
