The narration of the various conditions, situations, and historical events that shaped the evolution of a rural settlement so close to the city center, such as Patissia, imposes the highlighting of the relationship between the area and the broader history of Athens - urban, spatial, and historical. We must not forget that, over time, the various changes that occurred due to natural or socio-political factors (natural disasters, e.g. drought, diseases, abandonment of land, wars, urbanization) have greatly affected the environment where people live and work.
...Today, Amerikis Square, where I live, like every square in the Patissia area, experiences a "conventional" "forced" coexistence of religions, languages, and cultures. With justified and unjustified complaints, with completely different emotions, overtly and covertly from another era, mixed with sympathy, solidarity, fear, and hostility, some expressing them and others burying them deep within themselves, with a "limited liability" state that is trying to be true. We cannot understand what is happening, but mainly why they are happening in such a chaotic way. Our responsibilities, obligations, and rights, a burden.
