I ignored the previous buyer's review and I regret it. After half an hour of use, it strains your eyes and causes terrible headaches. I tried to reduce the brightness and contrast without any result. The HDR is mediocre. Even my 32" LG TV is more comfortable up close. The build quality seems quite satisfactory and the stand is sturdy. But what's the use when you can't use it?
I was really surprised to see the reviews here, so let me write my own experience in case it helps someone. Firstly, it is a VA panel, which implies smearing, and obviously, there was smearing. To be fair, it wasn't as bad as in other monitors, but it was definitely extremely annoying and if you can't stand it, don't even think about getting this monitor.
Furthermore, the viewing angles were equally bad with terrible gamma shift even when looking straight at it. Given the large size of the screen, it was quite exhausting.
The colors were absolutely terrible, with the red being overly intense but also... washed out (wrong hue) at the same time. Even after a lot of effort, it never reached an acceptable point with the admittedly extensive monitor settings, only with tweaking from the GPU drivers, which still didn't come close to even the most budget IPS panel.
In addition to the above, the monitor came with a strange backlight bleed that appeared as a frame with higher brightness around the screen. Extremely annoying, and once you notice it, your eyes constantly go there.
Finally, the monitor had terrible flickering with freesync enabled, making it more or less useless.
The cherry on top of this awful cake was that LG's response was that all of these issues were normal and didn't warrant replacement or repair. Draw your own conclusions.
