INDICATIVE RELEASE DATE: OCTOBER 2023

DEFCON 1 takes place during the Cold War from 1950 to 1990. All cards and technologies are based on historical facts.

It features different gameplay for each number of players:

• 2 players - Frontal Shock game, nervous and tense
• 3 players - Death Circle game with secret objectives
• 4 players - Semi-cooperative game and secret objectives game
• 5 players - Secret Objective game

Each of the 5 asymmetric blocks has its own strengths and weaknesses, through its own Technology tree, Mission and Objective cards, and even a scalable Unit pool. Each player has mission cards in their hands and will earn rewards once they fulfill each of them, bringing them closer to victory. As the DEFCON level decreases, depending on the players' actions, new strategic options will become available, such as building nuclear bombs. There is also a Space Race that allows you to gain Influence and add new Space Technologies to your Technology tree.

The game is played in 5 phases:

• [0] Initialization: Refill your hand and collect resources (Oil, Uranium, Influence, Research and Development) depending on the zones under your control.
• [1] R&D: With Research, you can unlock Technologies. You can also invest in the Space Race.
• [2] Political: With Influence, you have the ability to destabilize zones or take political control of destabilized zones.
• [3] Production: Next, you can produce available units in zones you control that contain a Factory. You can also upgrade units.
• [4] Atomic: If the DEFCON level has reached level 1, you can launch nuclear bombs (if you possess the Technology).
• [5] War: Finally, you can redeploy units, launch sea attacks, bomb and then redeploy units, launch land attacks.
