Description

The relationship between Natural Science and Religion can be said to have been a collaborative one from antiquity until the Renaissance. This does not mean, of course, that there were no cases of questioning religion in the name of science during this long period. However, these were isolated and sporadic.
After the Renaissance, and especially during the Enlightenment, the questioning of religion intensifies in the name of the autonomy of human reason. Then, this atheistic trend intensifies even more, reaching its peak in the second half of the 19th century, due to the rapidly developing physical sciences at that time.
However, the 20th century brings a turn towards spirituality and the search for God. This turn is particularly impressive, as it is highlighted by the works of the leading representatives of modern Natural Science, such as Max Planck, Einstein, Werner Heisenberg, etc.
However, this evolution does not mean that the anti-religious current has disappeared. On the contrary, it is dynamically present. Recently, it has been reinforced by the so-called "new atheists", who not only question religion, but also combat it obsessively, considering it harmful to humanity.
These observations have led us to write this study in the hope that it will help the reader to approach the subject of the relationship between natural science and religion in a somewhat better way.
