This volume includes Catecheses of our late Elder Aimilianos, who now rests in the bosom of the heavenly Father, addressed to the nuns of the Holy Convent of Ormylia and delivered, for the most part, in the years 1979-1983.
The venerable Elder responds to the letters of the nuns. The letters contain, as he himself says, the infantile experiences of the sisters [p. 194,197], and the sisters are still fresh sprouts, not yet kneaded with pain and tears [p. 116, 205]. Through these Catecheses, he lays the foundations of monastic life and the overall Christian way of life in the newly established sisterhood.
Through the infantile experiences of the sisters, he ascends to the heights of the Orthodox experience, revealing primarily to the sisters, and subsequently to all the faithful, the means and paths we must follow to attract the grace of God and become partakers of the divine nature.
We pray that the Elder's words, softening the heat of the day and dissolving the frost of the night for every struggling reader, may become for them "a spring of water welling up to eternal life."
