Description

This work, the product of a diligent 30-year effort, gathers mnemonic rules that cover the entire spectrum of Anatomy. The author, initially as a student and later as a university professor, devised ways with the sole purpose of facilitating the memorization of anatomical knowledge and structures that presented difficulties in memorization. These rules consist sometimes of verbal symbols (letters, words, or short phrases), sometimes of numerical symbols, and sometimes of simple hand-drawn schematic representations, which make the memorization of various information easier. The book also provides instructions and tricks for easier assimilation of anatomical knowledge (e.g. of the vessels or nerves of an organ), as well as rules related to the philosophy and methodology of Anatomy study. The edition covers all the organ systems of the human body and serves as a companion-supplementary manual to existing Anatomy textbooks. The reader can choose the thematic units of their preference or focus on knowledge that they find difficult to memorize. • Georgios Paraskevas is a Professor of Medicine at AUTH and Director of the Anatomy and Surgical Anatomy Laboratory at the Medical School of AUTH.
