We were light years away from our home, galaxies away, when we first discovered this ancient celestial body - a planet full of interesting, intelligent life forms, resembling our own. Some built kingdoms beneath the surface of the green seas, while others controlled the desert plains and cliffs. Among them, we found scientists, inventors, farmers, traders, and warriors. While our presence was unsettling to some, we had very few incidents with the locals. However, we, the Circadians, renowned explorers of Earth, must do whatever we can to ensure peace. We must respect this world and its hosts. The heads of Moontide have transmitted orders from above. We must initiate negotiations with the three tribes, hoping to gain their favor, along with our own safety while on the planet. We must also collect biological samples for the repository on Moontide. This is new territory for all of us, but we must be brave and resourceful. The future of the Circadians depends on it.

The goal of Circadians: First Light is to lead a team of researchers on the planet Ryh. Players must manage their crew (dice) to visit various parts of the planet for trade, agriculture, construction, and research. Players earn points for negotiating with the locals, collecting resources for the repository, upgrading their research base, exploring the planet, and collecting valuable crystals. The game is played in eight rounds. At the end of the final round, the player with the most points wins.
