Description

The G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 RAM is aimed at demanding computer users, such as gamers, professionals in the field of video and image processing, designers, and those who require high performance from their computer.

DDR3

DDR3 is the third generation of RAM memory technology for computers. It replaces DDR2 and offers increased speeds and capacity.

It offers operating speeds from 800MT/s to 2133MT/s, response time (CAS Latency) from CL4 to CL19, while its capacity has increased up to 16GB per memory module.

For speed (MT/s) and capacity (GB), the larger size we choose, the better performance we will have in our system, while for response time (CL), we want the smallest size for the speed (MT/s) we have chosen.

The above characteristics should be compatible with the specifications of our motherboard.

The G.Skill Ripjaws provides a speed of 1600MT/s, with CL10 and 8GB per memory module.

Compatibility

DDR3 technology is compatible with specific motherboards and processors. Indicatively, DDR3 is compatible with Intel 3rd & 4th Gen, Pentium, and Celeron processors, as well as AMD FX and Phenom II series processors.

However, for compatibility with your motherboard, you need to ensure that your motherboard supports DDR3 technology from the manufacturer. Compatibility depends on the processor platform and the type of motherboard you are using.

XMP & EXPO

XMP & EXPO is a technology that allows us to increase the frequency and performance of our computer's memory without the need for manual adjustments. (XMP/ EXPO) is easily activated from the BIOS, available in certain RAM memories, and supported by certain motherboards.

The G.Skill Ripjaws XMP profile with performances:

  • Speed (XMP): 1600 MT/s
  • CAS Latency (XMP): 9-9-9-24
  • Voltage (XMP): 1.5V

Cooling & Design

The aluminum heatsink material, with its design including fins for heat dissipation, keeps the memory at a fairly low temperature even during the most demanding operations.

Flawless memories, installed and functioning seamlessly at 1600 speed.
They work fine with Patriot memories even though the card that comes with the memories says not to combine memories from different manufacturers.

Cl9 1600mhz undoubtedly the memories are excellent, there is no disadvantage in any area, I do not change them. I have them in a gaming & rendering system and they are the best in this category that have passed the test

Color, speed, temperature... I have had a pair of 8GB for four years, completely satisfied even though they filled up to 95%. A few days ago, I added another pair and now with 16GB of RAM, the system is not struggling anymore and it is also a good investment for the future, at least for those who are not in a hurry to buy a modern computer with DDR4 memory.

  • The memory card is flawless, it was worth the money. It didn't have any issues. I gave it to a friend of mine and it still works perfectly after 4 years. I had paired it with a Pentium G2020 2.9GHz and it was flying!

One of the best RAM memories I have ever had the opportunity to use. I have 4x4 GB (16GB) in my system and I can run heavy applications such as editing software or games with browser/steam/TeamSpeak/Skype/etc. running in the background without losing performance. Value for money, nice design, perfect for AMD builds or builds with a red color scheme and optimal Frequency and CAS Latency (CL) ratio. Always aim for the lowest CL and the highest frequency possible. I believe that the 1600MHz with CL 9-9-9-24 that this particular model has is the sweet spot.

One of the best choices I have made, at 1600 with overclock capabilities and without limitations, depending on the motherboard and processor.

  • Perfect with a 2GB GPU and Intel i3 3.7GHz, it flies and unfortunately my motherboard only takes 2 modules
