When the pressure exceeds a predetermined value, it opens to release the system pressure. Its role in the installation is very important, as increased pressure poses serious risks to people and materials. It is installed at the highest point of the installation without the intervention of a switch or valve.
It is a diode, which means it has 2 ports, one for input and one for output. When the input is closed, the flow is interrupted, while when it is open, the flow at the input is the same as the flow at the output.
It is made of brass, which is an alloy of copper and zinc, and it has good resistance to corrosion while also being durable over time.
