Very nice taste. It reminds me a lot of light Milko. Dissolves very easily. So far I can say that I feel less fatigue after the workout, time will tell of course.
With whatever I have mixed it, it is superb. Nice taste without bubbles. Whether in water or in milk, in yogurt or even with instant cream of yogurt, it gives a wonderful taste
Do not buy it, really the worst. Where to begin, 10% lecithin, low-quality sweeteners that later cause problems in the liver and kidneys. Search more for another brand. I recommend Dymatize
It is a quality protein without many additives such as vitamins, flavors, coloring agents etc. which does what you want as a dietary supplement to help you before or after the gym.
First, we are interested in the quality and the extra that we ask for as a meal without expecting magic.
The result will be very natural and without exaggeration.
Anyone who wants exaggerations goes to other products.
I chose the unflavored one and it tastes very nice.
It leaves a light taste/aroma, Milk and Vanilla powder.
It dissolves easily but taste-wise it's the worst protein I have ever tried, I was disappointed. I expected something much tastier for this price, but it's worse than proteins that cost half as much. Don't be swayed by the many reviews
For connoisseurs: we only take unflavored Whey protein, without a ton of sweeteners and artificial flavors, we are not kids to drink milkshakes, but athletes with goals! It dissolves easily, it's light like drinking water, no bloating.
Cookies and cream, I have never tasted a worse flavor, it doesn't remind me of cookies at all. As for the solubility, it is very good, but if it's not drinkable, what can you do with it?
I have tried most flavors of Gold Standard 100% Whey by ON, and I have the following to say:
- One of the highest quality on the market.
- The taste of the shake depends a lot on the liquid base. For example, I use almond milk (creamy texture like regular milk with 1/4 of the calories. Alpro Almonds no sugar 15kcal/100ml diluted for those trying to lose weight) and the taste differs slightly from the shake made with regular milk or vegan milk (oat, almond, etc.) or water. With water, the taste is average, without body, but water has 0kcal/100ml. With regular milk, the texture is full-bodied with a rich taste. In the cookies and cream flavor, it is not very noticeable, but in the banana cream flavor, with milk, the taste is truly like banana cream (melted banana ice cream), while with almond milk, it leans more towards banana smoothie, meaning it has a creamy texture but you can feel the banana as a light flavor every time. At least, that's how I feel when I dissolve 30g of protein in 200ml of almond milk (all measured with a scale).
- I noticed that the flavors with chocolate are more intense and "heavy" compared to the ones without. In other words, after having a shaker with a chocolate flavor, I needed a glass of water to cleanse the "chocolatiness" from my throat. With flavors like banana cream, I didn't have this need, they were much lighter.
- For those who haven't tried it, I recommend starting with double rich chocolate, which is quite safe as a first choice (or extreme milk chocolate, which reminds me a bit of lacta). If you quickly get bored of the taste, go for a 2lbs quantity to start, around 29-30 scoops, so you can continue with a different flavor.
- I don't know if it's a placebo effect or not, personally, I saw various improvements in my strength and in weight loss with maximum fat loss percentage. For those on a diet, I recommend having a conversation with your nutritionist for proper moderation of your diet.
5 stars for the best protein! I have tried several! It is the only one that dissolves so easily, just a simple spoonful, and it doesn't cause me any stomach issues
In one year moderate results.. I was swayed by the positive reviews.. I have tried several flavors with the best being strawberry.
The issue is that it comes out like water, if you put in 200mg and pay almost one euro per scoop.
While with others you get a delicious mix at 300 to 350mg.
You pay for what you pay for, at least you should be able to enjoy it and not just take a shot!
If you want something better, go for the one with the red box.
I use the unflavored ON protein for daily use in food, etc. for years. Pure protein without chemical additives and always after training I use the Dymatize ISO 100 Hydrolyzed Gourmet Chocolate, which although it contains sucralose (like all flavored ones), for 5 times a week it does not affect the normal functioning of the body.
I decided to try the Optimum Nutrition Double Rich Chocolate, which is the equivalent of Dymatize Gourmet Chocolate, after recommendations from friends and because Dymatize reached 90€.
As for the taste, if I compare it to Dymatize, it is worse and you can tell it is an artificial flavor, but that doesn't bother me since I don't act like a baby like most people do about the taste aspect.
What bothered me is that after training, once I take this specific protein, I feel tired and recovery lasts 1.5 days. After a week of use, I switched back to Dymatize and saw that fatigue and pain after training disappear the same day.
I did not expect this result, although I understand that I am comparing Hydrolyzed with unfiltered, I really did not expect such a difference. I have not tried any other Hydrolyzed after training so I do not have all the information to understand if the fact that it is Hydrolyzed plays a role or if ON simply does not work for after workout. It is worth noting that Dymatize has more amino acids than ON, so that definitely plays a role.
They could have been cheaper as they used to be at some point. Nevertheless, they are perhaps one of the best protein powders... I have been using it for many years... Now I finally get the unflavored one which has no taste or sweeteners.
I have read various comments about this specific protein. It is the first time I am using a dietary supplement of this kind as I have always been somewhat negative and cautious about supplements in general. I was recommended this one as a very good and clean supplement. To start, I tried the ice cream flavor as it was a safer choice for the taste issue. I can say that I had no problem and the taste was great. Then I proceeded to try the cookies flavor. When you smell it inside the box, it gives the impression that it smells like coffee. However, in terms of taste, it is great, at least for my own taste buds. A friend gave me to try the double rich chocolate which also left a very nice taste sensation and I will try it sometime.
For the month that I have been using it, I have not experienced any side effects from what I have read here. No bloating, no gas as some people write. Let's not forget that each organism reacts differently. So far, I have not encountered any problems. Yes, I would recommend it to someone to try it.
Double Rich Chocolate... Amazing protein.
Second time I'm getting the same one.
Fantastic taste, dissolves very easily, even with cold milk.
Personally, I use a shaker and shake it well there for 10-15 seconds and it's ready.
I put one scoop in about 250-300ml of milk. For those who are afraid, it's literally like cocoa, no difference, sweet taste, you enjoy drinking it.
That's it and happy shopping.
Attention, do not mix it with a mixer like a blender, my brother made a mistake when we first got the protein and it turned out terrible, there were literally huge chunks left inside, it went straight to the trash. Better to use a shaker or a blender.
I have been using the Dymatize iso100 for a while, so I decided to try this one in cookies flavor for a test. I don't know how to say it, but the iso, even though it made me bloated for a little while, this particular one gave me better results than the iso
It gave me stomach pains which other powders do not but my boyfriend was fine, so I can't recommend it for everybody.. maybe try a sample first. It tastes fine, very very sweet if you like that.
I think it's top in its category. It dissolves very easily and the double rich chocolate flavor is amazing. With almond milk, it's like cocoa and in yogurt, it's like chocolate pudding. If you want a strong flavor, you can mix it with water. I used to mix it with 100-120ml and it dissolves just as well.
So when it comes to taste:
The chocolate hazelnut one is my favourite one so far. It’s like drinking a chocolate out in a cafe with a hazelnut taste. I also tried the double rich chocolate one from a friend and it has an awesome taste too.
The cookies&cream one is disgusting…I tried it with water and milk (with milk it’s a little less disgusting). Unfortunately I bought the 908gr and I had to consume it so I added it to crepes and brownies (bc you can’t taste it that much).
Anyway, it’s a good protein and you can easily mix it in water. Just stay away from the weird ones such as the cookies and cream one.
From the first moment you realize that it is a top product. It dissolves easily and has a very nice taste (although the second is a bit subjective). In more sophisticated features: it has a pretty good amino acid profile and 24g of protein in 31g of product (1 scoop), a pretty good ratio for protein. I cannot yet comment on effectiveness, but generally all proteins are more or less similar as long as they have a good amino acid profile and are reliable. The price is a bit steep but now that whey prices have gone up so much, it doesn't seem so expensive. About 70 scoops, easily lasts for 1+ month.
After trying the Double Rich Chocolate from the same company, I wanted to try this one (Extreme Milk Chocolate).
I can say that it doesn't have a tremendous difference from the Double Rich, it just reminds you more of the cocoa we used to drink when we were kids.
For me, it will remain the top protein on the market this year.
It delivers what it promises, Value For Money!
The only negative thing is that the taste is not strong enough and if you put it in a smoothie, it gets completely covered by whatever fruit you put in. That's why I only dissolve it in water or milk and I don't bother.
It is one of the tastiest protein flavors I have tried (hazelnut) and it dissolves very easily in water and milk. Even when I tried it in yogurt, it didn't form lumps. It doesn't cause any bloating or intestinal issues. I don't see a reason to change it unless it becomes more expensive.
I take the protein with low-fat milk, and soon I will also try it with water.
My personal experience with milk so far:
- Incredible and enjoyable taste. If you like chocolate, Double Rich Chocolate is the ideal one for you.
- It dissolves easily and the shaker cleans just as easily.
- It has a nice velvety texture.
4 and not 5 stars because its solubility does not satisfy me. I will say that even in a very good shaker that I use, it leaves lumps from powder particles. This always depends on the proportions you use. I will say that this problem occurs up to 700ml of water with 2 scoops. In terms of performance and digestion, it is dominant and qualitative. It bothers me that it smells very bad if you leave it for a whole day. But this is not a problem for people who wash their shaker frequently.
