From the first moment it was installed in the car, it had no illumination on the buttons, resulting in not being able to see anything at night and having to use a flashlight from my phone to search for the time while driving. I called and they told me it was a setting issue and left it like that. There is no such setting, as anyone I asked who had the same did not affect the illumination, it was simply defective
Very impressive screen that fits incredibly well in a Volkswagen Scirocco, ideal for someone who wants to upgrade their VW. Installation requires some time and effort. To activate certain functions, the model needs to be selected from the Factory Settings (PIN 8888). The sound quality during calls is good, easy navigation through menus, and a very nice design. Perhaps the only negative aspect is the internet connection, which can be done through a mobile hotspot, but the speed is very slow.
I have installed the screen on a 2015 Amarok.
It fits perfectly as you can see in the photos. It looks like it came from the factory.
The buttons also match the VW style, so everything looks great aesthetically. No issues at all.
- The color of the buttons is a solid red, just like the rest of the car, and it matches perfectly. However, you can find this color in the device settings (it takes a bit of searching).
At first, it would constantly change colors. It would start with red, for example, and end up with green after going through all the colors. Personally, I didn't like that.
But that issue was also resolved.
The screen is essentially an Android tablet.
It has around 25GB of free space for you to fill with whatever you want.
It has Bluetooth, so you can connect it to your phone.
This allows you to have hands-free conversations in the car (with decent quality, I have no issues with my callers). You can also listen to the songs on your phone.
Additionally, it can connect to the internet. It has a regular Play Store, so you can download whatever you want. However, it is quite slow.
You can use your phone as a router and, for example, use Google Maps for navigation. Or you can watch videos of your child on YouTube during the journey.
Another positive aspect is the clarity. It has a pretty good image quality. And the touch response is good.
---The negatives:
-As mentioned before, the internet is quite slow. If you try to use Google Chrome, it lags.
But I don't think it's a big issue since you can use it through your phone if you want.
Videos on the YouTube app play quickly without any freezing. And Google Maps works just fine.
So, the drawback is minimal. Insignificant for me.
--What is important are the ports it has.
It doesn't have an SD card slot.
It only has 2 USB ports, as shown in the photos. They seem to only charge the phone from what I can see.
I tried using a flash drive to play videos, movies, and music. But unfortunately, it doesn't recognize it. I also connected the phone with a cable, but it only charges. I can't find anywhere that it reads the flash drive.
So, if you don't want to constantly have your phone connected via Bluetooth and listen to music from it, you can send songs or videos, for example, via Bluetooth and save them in its memory. It has around 25GB of space, after all. It can hold quite a lot.
It just takes a while.
Overall, the screen is excellent for its price. That's why I give it 5 stars.
If I discover anything else or if I made a mistake with the flash drive, I will come back to update.
