Owner of G-shock (G-011D-1A) which unfortunately passed away after 20 years. I was looking for something similar at a reasonable price, but unfortunately G-shock watches with a bracelet are few and very expensive for my budget, so after a lot of searching, I decided to change brands and ended up with LORUS (RW651AX9).
Positives:
1) Elegant and beautiful.
2) Easy-to-read elements (I believe the digital elements are a bit large, which was unnecessary).
3) It has a light, very important for me. 99% of analog watches with a bracelet do not have it.
4) Easy to operate. The hands can be adjusted from the crown and the digital elements can be easily adjusted from the 4 buttons it has.
5) Analog and digital. Meaning, I can easily adjust the hands (unlike the Casio where you have to rotate it 11 hours forward because it doesn't have a reverse function) and have digital features such as date, stopwatch, etc.
6) Clear display of date, month, and day. Enough with all the chronographs I've seen. I don't know why watch companies insist so much on these features. None of the users I know actually use any of these functions. Economical watches with simple functions are rare in sizes 45-47mm. I believe companies should focus more on the design in this area.
7) Manufactured by SEIKO (I didn't know until recently), which I consider a reliable company, so I want to believe that LORUS watches will be equally high-quality for their category, but time will tell.
8) Lightweight for its size (the bracelet feels lighter compared to the Casio I had).
9) Completely stainless steel, without any plastic parts that fade and distort over time.
Negatives:
1) Only water-resistant up to 10 bar. I would prefer it to be 20 bar because I never take off my watch, so I would like to not worry about it while swimming.
2) The digital elements are too large. They could have been designed to be smaller and in a single row, not scattered.
3) The bracelet clasp of the RW651AX9 is different from the RW649AX9 that I saw (not that one is better than the other, but okay).
I believe it is a good choice for its price (95€). Of course, I have only had it for a few days, so I will provide more details in due time.
