Description

The present book titled "Collaborative Internet and Society" is a collection of selected works with corresponding content that emerged after a relevant invitation from the editor of this edition and the publishing house "Papazisis". The works were evaluated by two (2) independent reviewers with research and professional work in the respective subjects. The design of the book, with the matching of units-chapters with specific targeting, preceded the relevant invitation by the editor and his collaborators Mr. Varlamis Heracles and Mr. Chrysanthou Anargyros. The relevant structure that was created was shared with the prospective authors within the framework of the above invitation. The book contains 25 works corresponding to its chapters. The first work by Mr. A. Berler provides a detailed presentation of the history of the Internet and refers to important individuals who influenced its course. The second work by Mr. Gianakoulopoulos captures elements concerning standardization and contributes positively to the development of Internet sites. The third work by Mr. Bakavos & Apostolakis provides an initial approach to the certification process of Internet sites, while the fourth work by Mr. Varlamis presents the most important characteristics of applications in Web 2.0. The fifth work by Mr. Tagaris & Berler presents estimations about the future of the Internet. Searching the World Wide Web in the new Internet (Web 2.0, 3.0) is the subject of the sixth work by Mr. Varlamis. Public administration and governance with a focus on NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) is the subject of the next work by Mr. Ververidis. The eighth work by Ms. Kerkiri provides tools for a personalized interactive Internet, the ninth work by Mr. Vangelatos and Ms. Kalamara gives a first approach to Health 2.0/3.0, and the next work by Ms. Lazakidou and Mr. Ilioudis presents existing applications. The 11th work by Mr. Malamateniou, Koufi, and Mr. Vasilakopoulos deals with the virtual medical folder, as well as the 12th work by Ms. Gkeli. The next work by Mr. Angelidis presents Telemedicine in the collaborative Internet, while the 14th work by Mr. Moumtzoglou provides information on empowering the patient through the new Internet. The 15th work by Mr. Konstantinou deals with collaborative learning environments, as well as the next work by Ms. Lazakidou G., Prentza, and Mr. Retalis. The use of social media in shaping public policies is the subject of the next work by Mr. Haralampidis, Louki, and Ms. Diamantopoulou. The topic of project management in the collaborative Internet is the subject of the next work by Mr. Giotes, while the 19th work by Mr. Karydas deals with the Collaborative Chamber of Commerce. Works 20-25 deal with security issues (the editing of these chapters-works was done by my collaborator Mr. Anargyros Chrysanthou). Specifically, the 20th work by Ms. Mylona deals with the role of personal data in the information society, the 21st work by Ms. Latsiou and Mr. Chrysanthou deals with legal and ethical issues of e-health, the 22nd work by Mr. Bali and Ms. Stamouli deals with e-health applications based on security criteria, the 23rd work by Ms. Kastania introduces quality in security issues, the 24th work by Mr. Kotsos and Iliaki provides a practical approach to certification in security issues, and finally, the 25th work by Ms.
