- Reduces bulimia resulting in decreased intake of fats and carbohydrates, while also regulating the proper absorption of nutrients by the body. Reduces levels of cholesterol and triglycerides, thus regulating the patient's lipid profile.
- Inhibits the synthesis of fatty acids, thereby reducing fat accumulation in the human body. This is achieved in 3 ways:
A. Prevents the synthesis of ATP citrate lyase, resulting in the inhibition of lipogenesis.
B. Promotes fat metabolism by eliminating toxins and fat metabolism byproducts.
C. Prevents lipogenesis in muscles and the liver, without causing protein oxidation and excretion (as happens during dieting when valuable proteins are lost from these muscles).
- Eliminates excess sugars from the body. All these actions achieve an increase in the basal metabolic rate (BMR), the ratio at which the body consumes more calories.
