  I give it only three stars because I compare it to the 6 pro that I had before, so the rating is relative to that. On its own, it would probably get five stars, although its price is excessively high.
  Why switch from the 6 to the 7? Personally, I did it for one reason only, for the solar charging. I found it at a very good price, sold the 6, so the upgrade cost me a relatively small amount.
  Let me start with the one and only negative aspect, the solar charging. Charging is done through a small ring around the screen, so two things happen: a) it requires a lot of light intensity, and b) it doesn't actually charge, it just slows down the battery drain when I'm active.
  The second major difference is the touch screen. The function is quite useful when I'm not active, as it avoids excessive button pressing and theoretically prolongs their lifespan. The movement is not perfectly smooth, but overall it's worth it. I have it disabled during workouts. One thing I've noticed is that the touch functions are activated even when water falls on the screen, so I can't imagine having it enabled while swimming.
  The third difference is the GPS. It is much more capable than the 6 pro and much more capable than, for example, the T-Rex2, which I compare it to.
  As for everything else, we have a 6 pro in all other aspects. The screen is visible in the sun but poor (by modern standards) in semi-darkness/darkness and has low resolution for the money it asks. Battery life is not a concern, Garmin Pay is very useful, and it has the smartwatch functions I need. The maps work well and have helped me a lot in some cases to navigate in unfamiliar areas. Very good build quality, waterproof up to 100 meters, and subjectively attractive. The choice of the bars is incomprehensible, as they are almost impossible to remove and prevent the use of a strap that does not have a quickfit system.
  Is it asking for too much money? Apparently yes, but we must also take into account Garmin Connect, the Garmin application, which is excellent and free.
  If you have the 6, in my opinion, it's not worth upgrading to the 7, unless you really want a touchscreen. If you're considering the upgrade for the GPS, I also don't think it's worth it (the 6 is good enough), and it definitely isn't worth it for the "solar charging." In the end, I will give it 5 stars as a standalone product, 3 in comparison to the 6 pro.

  The best thing out there, no matter what I say is not enough, it does everything you can think of. Although the differences with the 6 pro are not that big, it is a much more complete product. The biggest upgrade is the touch screen, all the others are small improvements to the already very good software. I will also add a plus to the durability of the bezel, which is much more resistant than previous generations
