“What will become of this child who resorts to solitude and who, passionate and distrustful of those around him, always contemplates his grand revolutionary plans? A connoisseur of people who matured and thinks deeply before his time,” concludes Emil Ludwig, biographer of Napoleon Bonaparte.

Historical Quest Publishing House offers the Greek reading public the first volume of the multi-volume series “Napoleon Bonaparte - The Great Campaigns” by Giannis K. Chronopoulos. This series describes and analyzes all the campaigns of the Napoleonic Wars. The thread starts from the youthful years of the great commander and the War of the First Coalition and ends at Waterloo and his death in exile on the island of Saint Helena. It also presents the armies of the French and the Allies who participated in these epic battles, topics of tactics and strategy, unknown milestone events, and significant military commanders of both sides.

In the first chapter of Volume I, the beginning of the adventure of the formidable child of the French Revolution, his youthful years, his turbulent upbringing in Corsica, his studies at the Military College of Brienne, and the successful capture of Toulon are presented. The second chapter refers to all the milestone war events of the War of the First Coalition, including the battles at Montenotte, Lodi, Castiglione, Arcola, Rivoli, and the invasion of Austria. Volume I closes with the third chapter, which focuses on Napoleon's legendary campaign in Egypt. Malta, the Ionian Islands, the Battle of the Pyramids, the Battle of the Nile, the campaign in Syria, the Battle of Heliopolis, and the Battle of Alexandria are some of the events studied in the third and final chapter of this volume.
Through this series, the reader follows step by step the journey of the great commander from the moment his star rose until the moment it faded permanently. However, the echo of the works and words of Napoleon Bonaparte always remains alive.
