The book is very good. It covers the entire evolution of AI and includes both classical (symbolic AI) approaches and numerical (computational AI - genetic, neural, fuzzy) approaches. I happen to have seen/used the previous edition (3rd). The book is rewritten - it has many additions and improvements as well as new sections on modern topics such as machine learning and deep neural networks. Okay, it's not specialized in Deep NN but it gives a good taste of it.

I also noticed that the part I have is slightly larger (pages) than the one my friend got from Eudoxus, it has larger letters which makes it easier to read and it's also quite thinner (thicker paper?). It's probably a reprint with better specifications. If you buy it, look for the thin one, not the very thick one, it's much more practical.
