He was struggling so much that he even had a little blood and we switched to Novolac IT which unfortunately helped him to go to the bathroom but the colics returned! We replaced it with this Novalac 1 after the pediatrician's recommendation because it was causing colic and overstimulation in an 8-day-old baby. Unfortunately, we had the same issues with this one. It also requires good mixing because its composition is thicker, and we had to change to higher flow nipples on the bottles.

Indeed, it has a hint of fishy smell but the baby enjoys it. He has been drinking it from the second week since he was born until now that he is 1 and a half months old. He burps and his bowel movements are normal, 1-2 times a day. Our pediatrician recommended it to us. Personally, I am very satisfied.

We did not see a significant difference in colic as we used it for five days and even changed it because it caused severe constipation in the baby, nor did it work once during these days while before it would go at least two or three times a day.

We started with novalac but due to colic issues, we switched to novalac ac and infacolic. In combination with Dr. Brown's bottles, we noticed a lot of differences. Very few colic episodes, not daily and they didn't last long and were mild. After 10 days of use, constipation occurred. We continued using it with chamomile for another week, but nothing changed. I gave the baby novalac again and immediately the crazy colic episodes started! The baby was crying non-stop. So, I started giving novalac ac again and added probiotics. We will see how it goes... So yes! It is effective for colic in our case, but it causes constipation (not severe, but it takes about 5-6 days to work). It is thicker in consistency, but we didn't have any issues with regurgitation from the beginning.
