I have had it since 2008 when I was studying abroad and had a heavy 17" Sony Vaio. 16 years of frequent travel and it hasn't suffered any damage, neither the strap nor the zippers, absolutely nothing. I highly recommend it.
Also, laptops of different sizes can be placed as it has an adjustable velcro strap that can hold smaller computers, while the front pocket has enough space for the laptop charger, a regular-sized wired mouse (and a second one can fit), keys, pens, etc.
