Description

The top astronomer at Harvard presents his theory according to which a high-tech alien object from a distant star recently visited our solar system.

In late 2017, scientists at the observatory in Hawaii observed a fleeting object crossing our inner solar system, moving at such a speed that it could only have come from a distant star. Avi Loeb, then Chair of the Astronomy Department at Harvard, showed that it was not an asteroid: it was moving too fast, following an irregular trajectory, and leaving no debris or traces of gases behind. Only one explanation could be given: it was a technological object constructed by a distant extraterrestrial civilization.

In "Extraterrestrial," Loeb tells the fascinating story of the first interstellar visitor detected in our solar system. He describes his theory and its profound implications for science, religion, and the future of our species and planet. An incredible journey to the frontiers of science, spacetime, and human imagination. "Extraterrestrial" invites readers to aim for the stars - and critically examine what lies among them, no matter how strange it may seem.

Undoubtedly an excellent book by a top scientist. Simple yet captivating is the writing style of Avi Loeb. He has distinguished the Greek edition, which I personally consider to be absolutely comprehensive! Beyond the usual genres of novel, autobiography, and history, this particular book approaches issues concerning our future and the existence of intelligent extraterrestrial life in a realistic and friendly, yet always scientific, way. I highly recommend it without reservation!

Unfortunately, the translator was quite inexperienced. The English version is much more interesting. I also can't understand how a 240-page book was translated into 380 pages. Did the translator include their own opinions as well?
