The virus is the mirror of our society. It reveals the society in which we live. Today, survival takes absolute priority, as if we are in a constant state of war. All vital forces are put in service of prolonging life. The society of comfort appears as a society of survival. [...] The virus invades the comforting zone of well-being and turns it into quarantine, in which life is solely limited to survival. The more life becomes about survival, the greater the fear of death. [...] The epidemic once again makes death visible, which we had carefully pushed away and concealed. [...] The prolongation of life at any cost is globally elevated to the highest value, putting all others in second place. We are willing to sacrifice everything that makes life worth living in the name of survival.
