I have had it for almost 8 years, and the switches click like they did in the beginning. It has a crystal-clear sound with a great punch in the bass. If you have a good expensive motherboard, it has a DAC, so connecting it directly to the amplifier with a jack to RCA is the best choice if you have a serious vintage stereo. Otherwise, the v90 is the best choice.

I have it for a year and I am completely satisfied. It's not an aune s16 or a chord mojo or a giant killer. It is transparent (neither warm nor cold, nothing, see the measurements, it accepts what it outputs, and that's the role of every proper implementation) throughout the spectrum and a completely honest approach based on cost from Musical Fidelity.
Very good DAC, nothing is missing in terms of inputs, quality, and performance at a reasonable cost. The only possible drawback (personally, it doesn't bother me) is the lack of DSD.... For a linear power supply that the previous reviewers mentioned, since MF stopped producing it and it is quite expensive anyway (as well as aftermarket Chinese implementations), check at Fanos in Athens. It improves significantly with the package, especially in the lows (tighter) (12 volts and 1 A, let the factory say it's 12V and 0.5A). It's worth it.
18/06/2021: All these years it has been functioning as it should, so it has proven to be fine in terms of quality.
15/12/23: We continue after so many years, just like the first day.

I have it only a few days and it really changed the sound of my computer and CD player. I haven't heard any other DACs, so I can't give it a perfect rating. I think the evaluation of What's HiFi site is correct. In a few words, it provides clarity and purity to the sound, especially bringing the mids slightly forward and giving detail that I have never heard before. What I noticed in these few hours of listening is that the tempo of the songs gives me the feeling that it's slightly behind. However, I don't know if this happens with all DACs or if my perception is deceiving me. What is certain is that the sound is so sweet and effortless, and it definitely deserves its price. I also read in some reviews that changing the power supply improves the sound. If someone has tried something like this, it would be good to give us an answer and a suggestion for a power supply

Excellent dac for the money it costs, upgrades the sound of devices with digital output (dvd, bluray, media players but also affordable cd players), while in combination with a laptop or pc and a signal in the usb input, one has a very good computer audio system (it does not play dsd files but I think at this price level it doesn't matter much). They have also corrected some ergonomic flaws that the previous v-dac model (I and II) had, such as the input selection with a switch and of course the on-off capability of the device. If you want to improve its sound, you can replace the switchable power supply that comes with the device with a stabilized one and the sound improves quite a bit, mainly in the low frequencies, but even with its own power supply, the sound is very good. I think it is the most affordable way (for a dac with external power supply and not from the usb) to set up a computer audio system with excellent sound for its cost.
