2022-10-04Expert userIt hasn't been 3 months since I bought it and it "broke down". While I was working, suddenly it started flickering "snow" and blacking out to the point where I had to unplug it. I tried another monitor that I luckily had, and in the end it's not a problem with my computer. I plugged and unplugged the HDMI and changed it to the various ports of my GTX 1060 3GB but with no result.
Edit (30' after evaluation): After half an hour of stress and hassle digging out my electrical back-up from the storage, I tried another HDMI cable (it came with a Dell for 400€ that I have since 2017) and it worked fine. I threw away the one that comes with the LG in the package, as it is the cheapest cable I have ever seen in my life, especially compared to the HDMI/DP of Dell. That's why I'm removing one star... A quality monitor over 400€ is unacceptable not to come with an equally quality cable, and I'm not talking about the gold-plated ones for 15-20€ but a little better than the 2€ ones.
Edit 17/1/2022: It doesn't support 50Hz with the HDMI it comes with, nor with any HDMI I tried (3 different ones). The monitor locks at 50Hz while it is advertised as 75Hz! With the purchase of a new DP cable from DeLock (15 euros) it finally worked at 59.97Hz.
My system is the following so that no one thinks I have a 10-year-old computer:
Motherboard: Asus Rog Strix B550 WiFi II
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
GPU: Palit RTX 2080 8GB
RAM: DDR4 2X16GB 3600MhzATTENTION: I should not forget to mention that I have also tested the monitor in Game Adjust with the "Faster" Response Time setting from the 4 options that the menu provides, but still I did not see any difference in the above problem. As for the 75 Hz, according to LG, they are available ONLY IF YOU HAVE AN AMD GPU. It states this in small letters in the English manual:

The support arm is very stable and gives you a lot of extra space if you have a small desk. To work comfortably with it, you need to consider the distance from it. The closer you get to it, the more the edges will be out of your field of view.

Did you find this review helpful?Purchased on 29/12. After setting it up in the office, I notice marks on the base. Deep scratches, half a centimeter from the color. Then I try connecting it to my Mac and in HDR mode it just shows a gray screen. As soon as I turn it off, everything works fine. I spent several hours searching to see what's wrong with the Mac. I didn't find any similar reports, so I decide to contact LG about both issues (marks and HDR), declaring a defect. I should note that I had a strange sensation in my eyes that I attributed to not being used to it.
The service comes the next day, takes it, and 15 days later I had the credit to use it as I want in the store and either buy the same one or whatever I want. I decide to get it again. Now everything works, there are no marks, and it doesn't bother my eyes.
I'm on the first day, I like it, and I give it 4 stars. I like that I was served, even if it took 15 days.
What I want to emphasize is that if it didn't have the factory marks on the base, I might not have replaced it. I would have attributed the HDR problem to the Mac and the strain on my eyes from the 12 hours I spend looking at a screen every day.
What I mean is: I imagine that many people live with defective products and haven't realized it - and it may even be dangerous. That's why the manufacturer's quality control must be strict and unquestionable. Unfortunately, from the comments I see below and my experience, this is not the norm for LG. So, 4 stars for now, and I will update in a while when my anger subsides :)

Did you find this review helpful?The screen appeared excellent, unfortunately though, and it's a shame, it has a major issue, which ruins all its other potential positives and doesn't allow me to use it.
There is generally a *coil whine* noise, which is more pronounced on bright backgrounds with text or thumbnails (e.g. Word documents, PDFs, YouTube, Facebook, etc.). After checking and ruling out the possibility that it comes from the speakers or the monitor's power supply, it definitely comes from a capacitor/coil in the bottom part of the screen, and it is very noticeable on a white background with a lot of text. The screen is literally non-functional during the "Sharpness" test at -- https://www.eizo.be/monitor-test/ -- due to excessive noise. A big disappointment from LG's Quality Control, considering the cost of this monitor.

Did you find this review helpful?The best in its category. Essentially, it is a 27-inch monitor + a vertical 16:9 monitor (in terms of width). It is not curved, which was a requirement for me as I wanted it purely for productivity and clear display of both colors and linear graphics. Its IPS panel is awesome and it is matte - without reflections. Very good out-of-the-box color calibration. 75hz refresh rate, clearly better than 60hz with noticeable difference, especially if you go back to a 60hz monitor. The monitor arm is heavy, sturdy with unlimited adjustments (depth, height, tilt, pan..) and frees up a lot of space on the desk. The LG "On screen control" software is quite good at "magnetizing" and expanding the windows you want into the predefined splits you have set, making multiple monitors a thing of the past for me. + 0 dead pixel warranty. As a user of many premium Dell monitors for many years, I have to give a huge bravo to LG as it has won me over in all aspects. Don't think about it..
