Description

When you have problems with objects - whether you can't decide whether to push or pull a door or you are frustrated with the quirks of modern computer and electronic products - the fault is not yours. Don't blame yourself: blame the designer.

It is a technology error or, more precisely, a design error...

When we first see an object that we have never seen before, how do we understand how to use it? How do we manage to handle tens of thousands of objects, many of which we encounter only once? This question pushed me to write this book that you are holding. The answer, I quickly realized, is that the appearance of the device must provide the critical clues that are necessary for its proper functioning - knowledge must exist both in the mind and in the world.

In this entertaining and educational analysis, cognitive scientist Donald A. Norman praises design excellence as the most important key to gaining a competitive advantage in influencing consumer behavior.

This revised and expanded edition of the book "The Design of Everyday Things," enriched with a new introduction by the author, is a valuable guide for anyone interested in learning how and why some products satisfy consumers while others annoy them.

I would recommend buying the English version (I have both). I have the English version in ebook format. The translation of the Greek book is mediocre and cannot be compared to the English one. It is a book that will open your mind to the mechanics of thought around everyday objects. Personally, as a UX/UI Designer, I found it useful. I would say it's good for beginners.

Very interesting. It has a lot to teach you in the field it deals with and is particularly inspirational.
