Description

In Calico, players compete to sew the coziest quilt as they collect and place patches of different colors and patterns. Each quilt has a specific pattern that must be followed, and players also try to create combinations of colors and patterns that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also capable of attracting the most cuddly cats!

The rounds are simple, choose a patch tile from your hand and sew it onto the quilt, then draw another patch tile into your hand from the three available.

If you are able to create a group of colors, you can sew a button onto your quilt.

If you are able to create a combination of patterns that is attractive to any of the cats, they will come and curl up on your quilt!

At the end of the game, you collect points from the buttons, the cats, and how well you managed to complete the unique pattern on the quilt.

Contents: 4 Boards, 108 Patch Tiles, 80 Cat Tokens, 52 Button Tokens, 24 Design Goal Tiles, 5 Double-Sided Cat Scoring Tiles, 6 Black and White Patch Tiles, 1 Scoring Pad, 1 Cloth Bag, 1 Starting Tile, 1 Button Scoring Tile, Rules.

    A well-made family tabletop tile placement game that looks simple but hides a lot of thought! You try to build your quilt as best as you can in order to attract as many cats as possible, but at the same time, you have to be careful about which piece you will "sew" next, as there are 3 specific goals each time that you try to achieve, which limit you in terms of the sequence of colors and patterns you must choose. As the quilt fills up, it becomes more difficult (even impossible) to accomplish all the goals you initially had in mind! The game offers many variations of gameplay, different scenarios, and a solo variant. As for the contents and quality of construction, the colors and illustrations are wonderful, with thick cardboard boards and tiles of very good quality, providing a great gaming experience!

    Wonderful "puzzle" that you are called to solve. There is the factor of luck of course. A game of tactics (and not strategy) with a very good solo mode as well. Beautiful presentation and production.
