Description

Beyond the philosophical perspectives and findings of the natural sciences, "time" is a form of information for humans that measures the "changes" that occur in our environment and determine our path.

The modern discoveries of neurophysiology have identified in our most perfect computer, our brain, the areas and mechanisms that record (Time-Computer) events and create the concept of space, time, and spacetime, in the past, present, and future.

Time is a fundamental quantity and, in this sense, it is a measurable size. It is natural time.

This book records the relationships that exist between our various biological functions in relation to time. Humans do not have the ability to change time, but they can record it, and these recordings structure memory.

All our events, as living beings, take place in time. The normal function of the various organs of the human - and not only - organism and every deviation is calculated within time.

Thus, our brain is the organ in which the sensation of time is created, through various stimuli. The other center of life, the heart, operates within strict time frames, and every deviation can signify the end of our existence. The administration of drugs is determined within strict time frames... harmonic function and sleep take place in clearly predetermined and rhythmically repeating rhythms - circadian rhythms - genetically determined. Laboratory tests, often, are measured in relation to time. In Nuclear Medicine and Radiotherapy, time guides our treatment, and in clinical Medicine, diseases are classified, based on time, as acute and chronic, based on the time we have available to operate. The evolution of a disease and the expected survival are measured within time.

Finally, the joys, sorrows, and anxieties within time, psychological time, are experienced. In this book titled "Time in Medicine," these and many other things are described as simply as possible, without of course distorting the scientific basis of the text.
