  My 11-year-old dog has the toughest nails. They are black, thick, and hard, making it impossible for groomers or veterinarians to cut them because the quick is not visible, so they end up making her bleed and stopping. Therefore, in the 3 months that I have had her, she became like a Godzilla and I couldn't find a solution. Finally, with this tool, I was able to significantly reduce the length of her nails for the first time by myself. Nail and treat, and she sits because I take them little by little, so it doesn't hurt like with clippers that we all used randomly. Of course, for nails as big as mine, it takes its time and needs 2-3 more times to get everything back to normal.

  It also has a transparent cover that helps to take the nails at a specific angle and collect the dust (trimmed nail) that is created. This angle is not convenient for my fingers, but I can put her nail from the other side at any angle I want. However, this cover really helps to prevent a lot of dust from falling everywhere. Next time, I will use it with a mask, the simple covid one, because the dust that is not collected in the cover floats in the air for a while and I inhale it.
  It has 2 speeds and replacement wheel-file parts are included in the package.

  For cleaning, after removing the cover and opening the part that opens, I put this part under the tap, but very carefully not to let water get into the rest and inside, because it is not waterproof. Then I store it upside down to dry.

  And to avoid the classic "breaking" that you have experienced but you sit and watch: it takes 4 AA batteries that are not included.
