It needs to be wet before use. It leaves marks from the water that it doesn't absorb well. It needs 2-3 passes to remove the excess water. It is not very soft in its use. The noname one I had before was much better

So basically it is not absorbent enough because you start with a wet cloth already. Maybe the criticism is a bit harsh and that's how all leathers are. I just had something different in mind...
