In the first month of use, it was a bit strange, but gradually you get used to it. Huawei, on the other hand, has made tremendous strides in improving its compatibility with applications, and this is evident from the rapid development of the AppGallery. There are alternative solutions to install GMS (see the GSpace application).

The absence of Google Services is definitely a problem, not for Google apps (there are replacements for all of them and in most cases better apps), but the problem concerns third-party apps. For example, the Greek government has not released any of the gov.gr applications. Microsoft does not have Edge, Microsoft Authenticator, and Firefox does not exist. These are such childish problems that have not been solved yet. Of course, in 90% of cases, the apps are available through APK Pure, etc. But you won't find less popular apps.

First of all, the cameras are perfect and as far as I noticed, they also do some kind of automatic processing which enhances the resolution even more, the same goes for videos. It has many other functions, such as effects, AI, and many others, which work equally well! The OLED screen is very nice, with good resolution and vibrant colors, and the automatic brightness works perfectly (compared to all the previous phones I had). The RAM (8GB) and ROM (128GB) are really excessive and I don't think I'll ever reach 100%... It also has a very fast processor.
For those who want the Play Store, I inform you that it is possible to install it, as long as you spend 30 minutes searching on Google for how to do it. I did it successfully and it works perfectly.
The only drawback of the phone is the battery, which is good but doesn't last as long as I would like, although it has 22.5W charging so it charges quite quickly.
It is the first time I bought a Huawei product and I am extremely satisfied!

I have it for 1 month - first time with Huawei and I think I will become a fan of the company. Amazing premium phone (in terms of construction, materials, and user experience).
Great photos and videos. It's incredible that at night it finds light even where the eye can't see.
My battery lasts 1.5-2.5 days (I don't play games) but enough browsing, calls, music, social media.
Very good speaker (although monophonic). Amazing that when you zoom in on a person/object while shooting a video, the phone enhances the sound from it and reduces surrounding noises!
Great screen, perfect colors, although 60hz - I don't mind - next to 90hz you don't notice a difference. At least I didn't notice it while trying.
The fingerprint and face unlock are flawless and fast.
Finally, I left the most important thing,.. I bought the p40 hesitantly, due to the lack of Google services. In hindsight, I don't regret it. I didn't miss them. I have everything thanks to phone clone, petal search, etc. I don't have Google Maps but I have Here, Waze, etc.. I thought that in sites and YouTube reviews they were exaggerating when they said there was no problem. For the use I make and for the average user, they are definitely right.

I bought the phone for 380 € and my opinion is that for this price, you won't find anything better on the market.
I'll start with Google services. They all work almost perfectly with dualspace. You can download the playstore and install almost everything.
There are videos on YouTube in Greek. The only thing that didn't work for me is Chrome, but I have Opera.
Gmail, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and many games run without any problems.
Let's talk about the build quality. It's a gem. I bought it in blush gold. Solid construction with glass, aluminum, and the right size, at least for me.
However, like all phones, it needs a good case. I got a ringke and I recommend it. It's reinforced on the edges and transparent on the back to show the color of the phone.
Cases are a matter of personal preference, but I suggest investing a little more money in a reputable brand.
Photos. I have seen night photos from many phones. There is no comparison. They are clear, without noise, and bright. It truly turns night into day. The selfies are also good with great detail.
The battery lasts a whole day and charges very quickly.

However, after having the phone for a month, I am completely satisfied with its responsiveness, app opening speed, and overall performance. The screen is satisfactory and quite bright under the sun. As for the camera, I believe the P40's performance in this area is already well-known. It captures images with great detail, clarity, and has a huge zoom. The compact dimensions are important to me. Besides, the only noticeable difference between the P40 and the P40 Pro in terms of photography is the night mode with the telephoto lens (as you can see in related videos on YouTube). The battery easily lasts for 2 days with continuous data, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth on. In conclusion, this is probably the most value-for-money phone currently available.
P.S. The Huawei phone clone, which comes pre-installed, takes care of the seamless transfer of all apps and files from one's old phone, so there is no problem with Google services.

Coming from the P30 and since Samsung continues to release its flagships with Exynos Chipset, the P40 for me was the only way, even without Playstore.
The absence of Playstore and Google is not noticeable and after a little searching I have found and installed every application I had on my P30, without breaking it and installing Google services myself (something that plays a lot on YouTube).
