Reading this particular book, I identified so much with little Dora because she reminded me of myself at her age. I used to spend my time telling stories to my dolls until I felt the need to tell them to someone else. A little pet, perhaps? Only I couldn't have a pet like Dora.

When the little heroine of the book receives a small kitten as a gift from her parents, she is extremely excited about it. She teaches it a bunch of tricks and spends a lot of time with it. Soon, the little Odysseus starts causing chaos and damage in the house, annoying both Dora and her mother. Then, little Dora decides to exchange her cat for a hamster, which would be quieter than her cat. However, she quickly learns that as the mother of the little cat, Odysseus, she cannot give him away because he is simply mischievous. Her mother explains to her that a mother always loves her children no matter how misbehaved they are and never pushes them away.

First of all, this children's book will convey to your child the value of animal welfare and make them love animals even if they are afraid of them. Later in the book, they will learn that we should not easily abandon human relationships, our friends, and our family. Pets are human's friends and we should protect and love them, not abandon them at the first opportunity. Pets require patience and love. All of the above is taught to us by this children's book by Makis Tsitas and it is worth reading by every child!
