If you are a new mother who wants to increase production and needs to pump frequently, it would be good to rent one for at least two months. I have been pumping for 9 months because my baby did not latch from the first hours after birth, so I used the Cangaroo Gentle double pump, but due to minimal production, I hardly expressed anything. I rented the Ameda pump and my production immediately doubled, going from 20ml to a total of 40ml per day. Within two months, I had reached 300ml per day. At the same time, I also rented the Medela pump, but it caused me pain and did not yield better results. I bought consumables from time to time because if the silicone parts break, the pump won't work. I also changed the flange to a larger size as the breast shape changes. In the 8th month, I stopped renting and started using the Gentle pump again, but it had lost its effectiveness. Then, with the single Cangaroo pump, which is the number 2 bestseller, it also lost its effectiveness and I needed double the time, and every week my production dropped by about 200ml. I have reached around 600ml per day. With the Chinese pump, it hurts as it does not have cushions and has the same effectiveness as the Cangaroo. Generally, people say that the Spectra pump is the best, but I ordered an Ameda and we will see. In short, every need, breast, and mother is different.
