The Brochure of Modern Greek Reflection "Responsibility" celebrates with this volume the completion of eighty years of life of a truly great modern Greek poet, T. K. Papachonis.

When last year we happily witnessed the poet's clay vessel, with the sails of creation raised, triumphantly surpassing the border of his eighty years, we thought it was our duty to honor him. We considered this act as an honor to the New Hellenism, but also as our own honor, as in a world of counterfeits, we would strive to reveal the truth of a work among the most complete, luminous, and noble that our land has produced. In this work, Christian faith is combined with spiritual freedom, and the character of modern Greek life is presented open to the multiple struggles and dramatic grace of today's world.

T. K. Papachonis is unquestionably the leader of modern Greek poetry for us, the one who with effortless courage and consistency opened the new path by creating a work that stands at the "cornerstone" of modern Greek literature.

Therefore, we honor him, we thank him, and we wish him many fruitful and abundant years.
