However, the route to the rivers of our times is still unmapped. Streams, tributaries, branches, the quality and chemical composition of the water it receives and transports, irrigations perhaps belonging to problematic and demanding soils, tides, canals, small ships with sails exposed to the winds of the seasons, ports, stops, geometry, as well as the delta in which many useless logs are dragged here and there, and which at some point gets lost in the brackish sea, without chemically altering its composition, a small or large death for some! The branches of the river, says Claudio Magris, each go their own way, emancipated by the imperative unity-identity, and die like the heart, nails, or hair that death certificates release from the bonds of mutual faith. And of course, he is right when he claims that there is no particular reason to determine the estuary, as has been done for centuries with the sources, but it would be more appropriate to let them die quietly... without further stimulating and exacerbating the already created confusion, we would add in turn!
