I haven't missed a day in *months*. I consistently log in, the way the seasons change, the trees, the fish, and the insects you can catch each month, etc., make it not boring. The NPCs do talk a lot, I would prefer if they shortened it a bit, but you get over it. It is simply a gem, it does its job perfectly (to relax). It is for all ages from 3 to 93. It is not a game to play for 2 hours and then be done, animal crossing requires patience. However, I have heard that it is not a good game for multiplayer, which is true since the second player is locked on the "leader's" island. That's why, just like me, I bought the game knowing that I will only play it by myself. It is worth every last euro and whoever gets it will be amazed by it 95% of the time...

The Switch has many gems and Animal Crossing may be the top game of the console. If someone wants to get it and play for 20 hours straight and finish it, it's better to get another game. ACNH requires patience. A few minutes or a few hours every day. You can't do many things.
For online, you can visit other islands from your friends. Generally, it's not the best, especially if you want to go to someone unknown. But it's okay, it's good but not mandatory.

The purpose of this review, however, is to present my own personal experience with the phenomenon of Animal Crossing. Firstly, let me make it clear that I had no previous contact with previous Animal Crossing titles, so I am not a diehard fan of the series. On the contrary, when New Horizons was released in March 2020, in a very strange and difficult time globally, not only did I have my reservations, but I couldn't understand why there was so much hype. The childlike art style and feeling it gave me at first glance was not the best. Until the moment came when I made the impulsive move to buy it. It was a bit pricey, as usual from our beloved Nintendo. Guys, I really don't know how to convey through a keyboard the emotions that this experience, and not just the game called Animal Crossing New Horizons, has given me and continues to give me. Suddenly, there was no PlayStation or PC for a long time. Most of my free time was, is, and will continue to be dedicated to it. The characters, the bond with them over time, the ambient sounds of nature, are on another level and I sincerely mean ANOTHER level. We all know very well that such experiences can only be offered by the Japanese. Experiences that can truly uplift our souls, which unfortunately are so closed in these difficult times. I have to write for hours about all the things it has given me, continues to give me, and of course, it never ceases to surprise me with its emphasis on detail and perfection. Hundreds of characters, each with their own personality, characteristics, homes, abilities, and birthdays. Time flows in real-time and synchronizes with your timezone. The shops open and close normally, just like in reality, and I understand that some people don't like to wait a whole day to move on to some projects they do on the island. Personally, this adds its own realism and charm and doesn't allow you to change an entire island in a few hours. Endless things to buy, create, a huge number of animal species, both terrestrial, marine, and underwater. As for the music, whatever I say is not enough. Friendly advice, if you happen to be awake at 5 in the morning and especially if it's raining, take an umbrella and take a walk in the village you created with headphones, you will remember me. You will deeply bond with the characters and work on your relationships with them, depending on their personality. Some may seem a bit standoffish at first, but if you give them a chance to get to know you better, they can become brothers/sisters for life. As for the customization aspect, it's divine, housewise, clotheswise, and infrastructurewise, and believe me when I say I'm not exaggerating. Those who have a subscription and can play online with their friends will enjoy it even more, as they can visit each other's islands. I could write for hours about this gem, but let me not mention Zola's accusation. At the moment, Animal Crossing New Horizons is at the top of my Nintendo collection and not only that, along with Zelda. The only thing I can recommend is for you to try it yourselves and give it the time it needs. It will reward you and then some. Do not be swayed by other people's reviews, because taste is subjective and only if you try it yourself unbiased will you truly understand. This mindset, of course, should become a law for all games. You will never get bored of it and you will always have something to do that will not be just generic, but genuinely new. I understand that the game is designed to be relaxing and serve as a way for someone to forget about the world and the difficulties they may face for a while, but at some point it becomes boring. I mean, it's very nice, it has its own style. But as a fan of games like Souls, The Last of Us, Uncharted, Zelda, and basically all the Mario games, Mario Kart, and Mario Party, I found the progression to be very difficult.
Okay, I get it, it's supposed to be realistic and time passes just like in the real world, outside the game world. But come on, I'm not going to spend 200 hours on this game just to unlock the main features, you have to play for at least 50 hours.
Good for grandchildren, children, and nieces/nephews of everyone though! I would recommend it for younger ages who don't care much about what the game has to offer and for more casual and non-gamer individuals.
3/5 only from a personal perspective, I don't think it's worth 50 euros.

No more anxiety, nerves, swearing, and broken keyboards and mice. I found my literal peace of mind. It definitely came out at the perfect time it could have, hence the sales it is making, but nevertheless, the game is worth it. If you are playing Animal Crossing for the first time, you will have many questions that you will gradually find answers to and you will be more and more fascinated by it. It is worth mentioning that the game has a real-life day system and some things you have to wait a day to do. For this reason, it is slow and maybe tiring at first. I also started feeling tired after 2 weeks, but in the end, I gave it some more time and was rewarded. Now I log in every day for about 2-3 hours, do my daily tasks to earn money and build relationships, and then I create whatever I can (and due to money) on my island, giving it my own identity.
In terms of economics, the price of the game is the classic Nintendo price, so there is no discussion about it, as it will never drop below 40-45 euros.
Conclusion: The game is a bit slow at first due to limited options, but as the days go by, there are more and more things to do. From a certain point onwards, it leaves your imagination completely free, and that's how you do your daily routines to earn money and build your island as you imagine it.
P.S.: It has something like a stock market with a character once a week, which I find very nice as an addition.

I suggest getting it if you like these kinds of games, you will love it. It's very relaxing and it starts very slowly because the game uses real-time (something wonderful). For example, if it's 2 o'clock now, it will be 2 o'clock in the game, and different "animals" appear at different times. In the evening, you can catch ghosts, etc. Also, depending on the seasons, in the summer there are summer "animals" and activities, and so on. You can also take trips to other islands to gather resources and invite other companions/animals to come to your island (some companions/animals are rarer than others, and each companion/animal has its own personality with different dialogues, sometimes humorous, to make it more enjoyable). The game requires an online card if you want to travel to friends' islands, but it also works without an online connection. One thing to keep in mind is that if you share the Switch with someone else, you can't have two saves, meaning it's one island per Switch.
Some small details are:
- Each island has one type of fruit, but you can also plant other types.
- There are endless things to decorate your house.
- You start with two companions/animals and the airport that brings you to the island.
- The game doesn't have a specific goal, the only thing is to fulfill your desires and have fun.

It discourages you from playing (although you can) many hours every day because it uses real-time, seasons, and events like Halloween and nature's day. The game shows its teeth after several days of gameplay, culminating in the reconstruction of the entire island! On the negative side, you can only create one island.
Overall: Anyone who wants a game and has even briefly considered ACNH, has never played a game like this before, thinks about it in terms of design, doesn't say much, watches videos on the internet without making any sense, I would suggest them to turn off the switch in their brain that tells them "no" and simply go get it!
