This is one of the cheapest options someone can make in the Traditional Shaving space. The classic, tried and tested, effective (?) Turkish soap from Arko that is widely used in barbershops.
POSITIVES
1. Obviously, the price.
2. Good post-shave.
3. Comes in a bowl, which is quite convenient.
NEGATIVES
1. It creates foam quite difficultly. It takes quite a bit of work with the brush to create a good amount of lather.
2. It has poor slip. Those who claim that the razor glides on the face obviously haven't tried soaps of another category. Several times I felt the razor pulling the hairs instead of cutting them. The test was done with Wilkinson Sword, Astor, and Feather razors on their first use.
CONCLUSIONS
The soap is unbeatable for the price it comes at, however, to be honest, it doesn't do a proper and good job. To be precise, it doesn't make shaving enjoyable as it should. In the same price category (approximately), it is quite inferior to the equivalent red soap from Proraso. Personally, I have it on the shelf as an emergency solution.
First experience with soap, used to foam for years... I wasn't thrilled, it foams a little difficultly and has a slightly peculiar smell. However, it leaves a very good feeling after shaving.
Its scent discouraged me from trying it. It smells like citronella. After a while, I said what the hell, let's try it. My conclusions: Average foam, good slip, perfect protection, perfect post-shave. If this soap had a nice (liked by many) scent, it would be simply amazing. It doesn't ask for much, a hard soap will last a long time, it's worth someone trying it.
Because everything is subjective and relative, I am one of those who have fallen in love with ARKO! But!, because its price allows it, you have nothing to lose by trying it!
Overall, it is nothing special, it has the classic scent of ARKO and it is relatively easy to lather. All in all, good value for money
