It has relatively good construction. Personally, it didn't work for us because we have a small child and we wanted a projector that would rotate the colors around to keep them occupied. Instead, it simply alternated between orange, blue, and green stars without much interest. It is suitable for older children, as it is recommended for ages 3 and above, and can be used as a sleep companion for those who are afraid of the dark. However, it is beautiful and has a soft fabric for cuddling.
