This book refers to the agricultural issue in Greece in general and specifically in Thessaly after 1881. Specifically, it discusses the small landownership in the western Thessalian plain, its seizure and conversion into estates by Ali Pasha, the occupation... concession... liberation (?) of Thessaly in 1881, the estate owners (private individuals, state, monasteries, benefactors, oppressors, and pro-Turks), malaria and its consequences on the health of the inhabitants, the early agricultural movement in the western Thessalian plain and then throughout Thessaly, the painful consequences of evictions, the living conditions of the tenant farmers, Marino Antypas, attempts to solve the agricultural issue, the culmination of the struggle of the Thessalian farmers Karagounides and their organized uprisings or their social Epic, the defamation of the ancient Thessalians, the Greeks in general and the Karagounides in particular by paid rule-followers.

There is also mention of the impact of the uprising in Karditsa, the birthplace of the farmers' struggle, and especially of Kileler, the solution to the agricultural issue in Europe-Balkans and its importance for Greece, the characterization of the uprising, the contribution, indicative, of the Karagounides in the struggles of the Nation in 1912-1913 and 1917, the vindication and praise of the tenant farmers Karagounides.

Therefore, we are entitled to argue that, without ignoring the generally known facts, we introduce new topics for discussion, utilize previously unused material from books, magazines, newspapers, e.g. Marx, speeches of the Greek Parliament, and above all, utilize unknown archival material. From our in-depth study of the agricultural issue and the struggles of the Thessalian Karagounides, and not only, the unparalleled character of the anonymous but also the famous individuals is highlighted.
