This book is an introduction to Sociolinguistics. The authors, who teach at the University of Patras, present basic sociolinguistic concepts and problems in an accessible way, without ignoring scientific research or attempting to replace live teaching and multiple teaching methods. In their introduction, they note: "We propose this introductory manual not only for the student reading audience but also possibly for a wider audience interested in the social dimension of language."
