The book is titled "Elounda, Agios Nikolaos, Spinalonga: Their History", the cover features a photograph of Spinalonga from 1898, while the back cover features a photograph by Swiss photographer Boissonneau of the Elounda Canal from 1911 and a note by the famous British author Victoria Hislop about the value of the book.

The book presents an introductory description of Elounda and Agios Nikolaos on its first pages and is divided into two parts. The first part covers war, historical events, and turbulent historical moments from Olounda and Lato to the present day. The second part covers peace and the unique characteristics of the place. Education, economic development, communication routes, quarries, salt pans, factories, windmills, fishing, water supply, church monuments, and tourism. The private life also holds a special place, with the most important moments of human life (birth, wedding ceremony), diet, housing-architecture, clothing, music, culture, as well as the struggle for survival of ordinary people. It consists of 240 pages, of which 180 are black and white and 60 are colored. The 368 photographs included are significant material. Landscapes, engravings, ancient conditions & inscriptions, moments of national as well as private, professional, and social life of people, maps, and colored aerial photographs showcasing the beauties of Elounda, Agios Nikolaos, and Spinalonga.
