The volume "The Trilogy of the '80s" includes the first three books with which Aris Marangopoulos made a dynamic entrance into literature in the 1980s: "Oldsmobile" (June 1982), "Psycho-Bordello" (May 1983), "Not Everything is Cinema!" (June 1985). All three books are characterized by their obsessive critique of the globalized culture that was slowly but steadily penetrating Greece at that time, through the vehicle of the cheap lifestyle fashion of magazines like Klik, the newly born private television, and the politics of late social democracy that flattened every notion of political claim. Through a fiction daring in language and structure, through micro-stories of everyday life, these books satirize fears, morality, anxieties, language, the sacred and the profane of the organized individual. And all three books are permeated by a visible anarchic disposition, poetry of rebellion, youthful provocation.
